Step by step summary of making eBay a sales channel on a Shopify account

1. Log on to your Shopify account

Once in your Shopify account, you will want to look out for the ‘sales channels’ list somewhere on the bottom left of your page.

Click on the plus sign on the right hand of the page to signify that you would like to add a new sales channel to your store.  You will see a pop-up list, go through the list and select eBay while clicking the plus sign next to the eBay option. By doing this, you will have successfully added eBay as one of your selling channels.

After going this far, you can expect to see a pop-up list with various permissions for orders, customers, and products to name a few – these are to facilitate sending and receiving of orders by eBay.

2. Link your Shopify account to your eBay account

To do this, you click on the ‘connect’ button to get the linking process started, and by doing so, you will be granting eBay access to your Shopify. 

Go ahead to click on the ‘add sales channels’ to continue. This action should bring eBay’s login dialog window. By now you should make sure that you have enabled pop-ups on your browser so that this window pops up without any difficulty. 

At this point, you’ll need to log in with your eBay ID password and continue to register an account with eBay if you do not have one already.

Once done with the eBay registration, Shopify will request to access your eBay account.

3. Make sure to configure your eBay listings

This part is pretty easy as you will need to state your location and preferred sales terms. Choosing the default policies is most recommended for a seamless drop shipping process. Alternatively, you can always customize it to your liking.

4. Choose which product to be listed and published

This process is quick and fluid. Here you will have two options, to either publish all your products at the same time or to publish selected products only. For the former, you will have to choose ‘review and publish’ option while for the latter, you will select ‘ choose individual products.’ Bear in mind that publishing your products will make them go ‘live’ on eBay. 

5. Customize and publish your products

A table that shows your products and listings makes it possible and easy to customize or make any changes to a product. Once done with making any needed changes on your listing, you can then click on ‘ save and publish all products.’ It is at this point that you will be reverted to your Shopify account channel overview window to see your handy work.
